Denton County had record rainfall on 01/24-25 raising lake levels. Lake Lewisville was 6 feet down and now is up 3.52 feet. Lake Grapevine was 3 feet down and is up 5.65 feet. Warning: Mud holes from riding can dry into deep holes that can turn a horse's foot. Before the rain, there were deep cracks noted due to drought at Marshall Creek Trail. These may be filled with water, so be careful.

LBJ Grasslands windmill plaque

Leslie Olsson led a dedication ride at LBJ Grasslands on September 24th to dedicate the Red Trail Windmill. The 14 riders rode in three groups (faster, medium, slower) and afterwards met for a casual picnic lunch.

CTETA was the driving force in repairing this windmill, although we split the cost with three other entities: the U.S. Forest Service, Friends of the Grasslands, and Hodges Farms (has the cattle lease). Our member Al Olsson helped convince the Forest Service that we could manage the project, then coordinated the work & did lots of the manual labor himself. The result is the best working windmill at the Grasslands!

Thanks to all who participated and volunteered to make the Texas Trail Challenge on June 18th a great success.

Cross Timbers trail has a new trailhead parking lot. Dunham Road Trailhead Opening and Ceremony was well represented.
